Welcome- if you have come from Linda's blog, you are on the right track. Sorry to be behind on my posting- report cards and intervention reports took over my life for a week or so. This month we are doing an anything goes blog hop. We were able to use any papers new or old. So I did do a set of cards with some of my favorite papers- Cherry-o and Roxy. These cards were for a workshop for some newbie card makers. So they are very basic and easy to assemble. Many were based on the card layout ideas in a card kit we had in the past. I believe it was called Just Because?? I also did a couple cards at our unit meeting that use the new papers (the last two cards pictured). The papers used in these last two cards are Florentine and Pemberly.

January Paper Trail Blog Hop

I created two cards and also a Studio J layout. The cards use the Jan Stamp of the Month and the Bundled Buddies stamp set. For the Studio J layout I used the Wonderland papers but changed the colors. That is the great thing about doing them in Studio J that you change papers to match your picture colors.

CTMH Paper Trail Blog Hop December

This month's blog hop features Roxie papers. If you have come from Karen's blog then you are on the right track.

I made a small box with a single sheet of 12x12 paper. I found the directions online. Then I made 4 cards to coordinate with the papers. I used the same card layout for each with small variations. This first pic is the side view so you can see how the cards fit in. The last pic is the front of the box. I did add some paper on the inside of the box (front and back flaps) to make it more sturdy and give the inside a more finished look. Inks used were smoothie, tulip and black. I used the black button brads and then put some bling on top of them- sparkles and opaques.

Elemental papers

These cards were designed by me while away on a consultant weekend retreat. I tried to only use the stamp sets that come with the Cricut CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge. I believe I succeeded. I used Elemental papers. The scallop edge is a hand held punch(SU, I believe). I followed the same basic layout with some variation on each card. I did use some mocha opaques as accents. I think I may do these for a future card club project.

Winter Wonderland papers

I made these cards at my upline's- Sandy VanNostrand-so they are her basic designs. I may have changed a few things here and there. I used the winter wonderland papers and snowflakes cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. Stamp sets are Snowflakes and Winter Joy. She had all the pieces cut out so it was nice on a Friday evening after a long week at school to be able to just stamp and assemble and not have to think too much:)

November Paper Trail Blog Hop

We are using CTMH Dreamin' papers. I did not come up with this layout by myself. I did put it all together and added my own tweaks on it. But my good friend Christine Lennon and fellow consultant assembled all the materials for me and creating the layout (based on a layout she had seen on another blog). It uses the CTMH cricut set stamp sets and diecuts using the new CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. I used a couple of foundry pins and the new cork letters and numbers, some mocha opaques and the kraft ready borders.

We are using Believe papers this month. I did three cards using a card layout idea from the idea books. We did a set of cards at our last stamp camp using this layout and elemental papers ( I will try to post those cards soon) and just rotated it around to change it up. I cannot remember the name of the layout idea at this moment unfortunately. I varied from that layout a bit.
One thing I do love about our new papers is the zip strip border at the top- it is so fun to incorporate it into your design or just trim it off to use as a border on it's own. Not sure the lighting is the best- while I did the cards a good while back- I, of course, didn't take photos for the blog til the last minute( this morning)

Being as this last week before school starting is very busy for me, I of course, made my cards last minute and tried to keep them simple.

We are using the Sonoma papers this month. The colors in this pack of paper are amethyst, cocoa, colonial white, olive, petal, smokey plum. I used the new pair-a-phrase stamp set. I used mainly smokey plum and olive for my ink colors.
For this first card I did a bit on the inside as well as the front. I used the new 6" kraft square cards with the scalloped edge. I used the plum organdy ribbon to tie the card closed.

This second card uses the same colors as above. I used the Many Thanks stamp set for the leaves and sentiment. This one had the olive organdy ribbon and some mocha opaques.

For the third card- same colors and the Pair-a-Phrase stamp set. I did use some mini mocha opaques on the flowers and tires as well as two larger ones at the bottom of the card. The lighting is not the best on these unfortunately.

Wow, that’s a lot of hands! I know I raised mine.

I’m Kristine Widtfeldt, Close To My Heart’s Vice President of Marketing, and I’m going to tell you the secret to creating four scrapbook pages, start-to-finish, in just 30 minutes!

I love scrapbooking, but as a working mom of three, my life can get kind of hectic. That’s why I love Studio J®, Close To My Heart’s online design software.

Studio J lets me upload my photos, choose a layout and themed paper kit, and embellish my layout—all in just a few minutes. My albums are a mix of studio and classic layouts, with a few embellished studio layouts like this one sprinkled in for good measure. It’s great!

Let me take you into the studio so you can get a feel for Studio J. It’s simple for newbies to use, but offers enough creative options to keep advanced scrapbookers happy and excited! We have a Step-by-Step Basics video you can watch online, but I’ll walk you through the steps here as well.

The first step is Photos, where you upload the digital pictures you’re going to use.

Next is Kits. You select one of the 70 or so paper kits offered. Later on you’ll have a chance to change the colors of the paper, giving you tons of flexibility.

We are using the new CTMH Mayberry papers this month and below are my three cards. Each uses all CTMH product. I used chocolate, smoothie, olive and honey ink for the images and the distressing. I also used the CTMH stamp set from the May promotion You and Me, which is available beginning today. Check out my website for more details. I also used the kraft color ready self-adhesive borders. I just love this new product!! So versatile. I wove some floss into the borders on the 1st card shown. On the last card shown I wove colonial white grosgrain ribbon through the holes. What a cool look. I also used some of the chipboard irresistibles from the You and Me May promotion on the first card. I used some mocha opaques on the cards as well. Remember if you click on the picture itself it will bring up a larger view so you can see details of the card more easily.

On this dress card I used the white daisy accents for the belt and flowers on the hem of the dress. There are some bitty sparkles on the neckline of the dress.

This used the colors from Mayberry and a bunch of the kraft borders on the new CTMH kraft paper. I did distress the edges of them all first. I used the stamp set from the May promotion You and Me.

Embossing with a twist

We did this card at our unit meeting this past week. It uses embossing over a dark color with a light embossing powder. I didn't do the technique really well. I need some more practice. It is supposed to look more distressed but I used too much embossing powder. The design on the left top came out best I think. It uses the Feb SOTM for the background design and we used paper from Olivia for the background.

Another Easter layout

This layout was also done at our consultant club. We used the bright colorful sides of the new CTMH Sophia papers, March SOTM Sensational, the Kraft color ready borders, and some hollyhock ribbon. They are a little too faded from the camera light. The Easter title border is made with the pennant alphabet set and is layered: stamped with hollyhock on white, then layered with pear and then hollyhock cardstock.

Here is a layout that we did at our consultant club this Friday. My upline, Sandy VanNostrand, hosts a consultant club for her 1st downline where we can go to duplicate her card and layout ideas for the month to help us get ready for our own clubs each month. I sometimes adapt them and sometimes use them as is :) The colors are a bit washed out due to too much light when I took the picture. This uses CTMH Sophia papers- the alternate side of the papers using more of the goldrush color and pear. We used the new pennant alphabet set, the SOTM-Sensational, and the most wonderful Kraft color ready self-adhesive borders. These are great. I will definitely be using these a lot!! This is a card we made this past weekend at our unit meeting. The original tutorial came from Splitcoast stampers but Janice Alvord, a team member showed us how to do these. So cute- they slide up and the bunny pops up. The pink dotted paper slides on the cream base. The paper is from Sophia and the stamp set is the March SOTM- all from CTMH.

This cute bookmark uses the A Sip CTMH stamp set- a great deal at only $7.95. We made them at our most recent unit meeting. My good friend, Chris, taught us how to do these. The top triangle part has the edges folded down to create a pocket at the back to slip over the corner of the page. I used Magnifique papers for mine.

Ok- card number three also uses the rainbow re-inker technique on a baby wipe-for the butterfly image. It's actually not a butterfly stamp- it's two of the same image stamped twice to look like a butterfly. Cool, huh?

I also used some clear sparkles as well. My upline is running a card club for us consultants and we can "use" her ideas for the cards each month. February card club

Well -here is the first of my cards for February card club. We will be using CTMH miracle papers, twilight, crystal blue, bamboo, and sweet leaf inks. We re also using the irristables chipboard pieces. So cool how when you ink them up the white design pops out!! We used a technique using re-inkers and baby wipes to do the multi-color images that were cut out. A very fun technique. this card also has some of the pearl opaques- all CTMH products. We used the stamp of the month, Friendship, for Feb for all the images. The card may be tweaked a bit by club time as these are my prototypes.

Here's the last card- although you can probably see all my posts in one day as I messed up in the dates and forgot to change the '10- '11 for the Jan posts. I meant for one to post each day!
I used sweet leaf eyelets and floss, the Jan SOTM and Wings paper from CMTH. The sweet leaf scallop edger is Stampin Up.

Here's # 4. the border punch is not CTMH- it's Martha Stewart, I believe. CTMH Wings papers, Jan SOTM and new black mini medley accents. The butterfly is cut out and the wings are loose so they stand up a bit.

Will try to load the other ones when I get back from our weekend. REadlly cute idea I just adapted with our CTMH stamps. This is a tent type card with winter on this side and spring on the back- then you flip it to the back and summer and fall are there. Fun and easy. You could certainly adapt any seasonal stamps to this idea.

Foil embossed card

Yes- we used aluminum foil and ran it through the Big Shot for this card to emboss it. You do need to use heavy duty foil for this. It came out pretty neat. It is done with Stampin' Up stamps- the dove and words are heat embossed with silver.

Thanksgiving card

I made this one at my friend Christine's house at her monthly stamp club- she's an SU consultant. The stamp is a large stamp that you stamp several times and cut out the parts you want to layer. Don't know the name of the set.

Dahlia fold flower

This flower was done with CTMH silhouette papers. It is one of my favorite paper packs. It's retired now. I did this using a dahlia fold with 8 circles and then you put them all together to create this flower. Clear as mud, right? Not sure I can explain it here but here's a link to a splitcoast stampers tutorial. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/dahlia_fold/
It is an easy fold and you can create beautiful flowers. Depending on the size circles you can create these as large or small as you like. The smaller you go though the harder it is to fold the paper.

Fall cards- two versions

I don't think I ever posted the last card for my November club. I had done two versions. Then I picked my favorite to do for club. They use all CTMH products. Colors are barn red, pear and sunset. I random stamped the top part of the page and used the pear and barn red cardstock for the bottom halves. The leaf stamps are from the CTMH workshop on the go set using Olivia papers. Some ribbon and mocha opaques complete the accessories. We wound up doing the top card for club.

Triangle treat boxes

Here's a set of triangle treat boxes. I found the directions online (can't remember where) and it was really pretty easy. I love the little Santa hat one. I put some white fun flock on the band of his hat to give it some dimension. The tree was fun too- lots of bling for ornaments. They aren't sealed closed- you can untie the ribbon at the top and add some goodies.

Here's the last purse I made for the gift exchange. It is from CTMH emporium papers and I used some copper brads and the mocha opaques for the closure. I did make a set of 3x3 cards and envelopes to go in this one as well.

Here's the 2nd purse from the Becky Roberts pattern. Again not CTMH paper but the little pearls along the top edge are our new opaques. Once again 3x3 cards fit in this nicely. I did make a set of 4 matching cards with envelopes to go in this one.

Our CTMH team Christmas party was a blast- we do a gift exchange and we have to make the item we bring. So every year I try to do something different and fun. This year I made a variety of paper purses and containers for holding gift items. I took pics of some of them and will share them in the next few days.

The first is a purse- not from CTMH paper (the accessories are CMTH products) and was done with a pattern done by Becky Roberts(a SU consultant). It came out so cute and is the perfect size for 3x3 cards or some little gift items. I filled it with candy.

In 2004, Sticky Boy appeared as the star of a video presentation at the introduction of My Acrylix stamps to the CTMH product line.
Sticky Boy appeared at CTMH National Tours and Regional Celebrations and even wore a Tuxedo at the 2006 CTMH Convention Award Gala.
David Lynton (who runs the warehouse and is the husband of our CEO Jeanette Lynton) got the idea to start producing and hiding Sticky Boy around any event venue we went to….it’s a crazy phenomenon…imagine thousands of women, scouring every window, mirror, sticky surface to see if they can find a Sticky Boy! I found one in Florida on a staffer's name tag. I just missed one in DC on the side of a couch.
At the 2010 CTMH Convention, David Lynton presented one to Anita Renfroe…who did a whole segment on Sticky Boy and then proceeded to tuck him into her bra where he could always be “Close To My Heart.”

I will be offering this workshop in Mexico, NY at Tammy Lamb's house- but a date is still in the works.

Here's the last one for now- am hoping to post the last two very soon. My lighting was not very good so it looks kind of washed out, sorry. The bottom patterned paper is done using a knife pleat. All Olivia papers and sunset ink. The saying is from the old CTMH months set for November. The little flower stamp is from The Present. I think in the final club card we may use opaques instead of the pear brads. Or I could give them the choice.

I am working on my stamp club cards for November. I am teaching some paper folding techniques. The papers are Olivia and I used sunset and cocoa inks. The main stamp set is The Present. Here's one and I will post the next two on Monday and Tuesday. I have two more to come up with- am hoping to do those tomorrow night. All CTMH materials were used.

These were all done using the CTMH Perfect Day papers. I do remember that pack because we used it at the first CTMH convention I attended in Florida. The two star stamps sets are some of my favorite sets. The nail heads on the last card shown are not CTMH but most everything else is. They are not nail heads really - they are flat metal pieces with different designs on the tops. A mini glue dot fits perfect under them! I found them in with my sewing supplies- so who knows how long I've had them or where I got them. But they really are a great accent.

The first 5 cards were from a workshop using CTMH Emporium papers. I loved that paper pack. It was fun to punch the circle designs out and pop them up- over the same design on the large pieces of paper. The last two pics were of a Mother's Day card I did for my mom.

oldies but goodies

I have not had any time to create some new cards. Already 5 days and no post- so much for my pledge to be a good blogger. I will post some oldies but ones I really liked from older CTMH paper packs. Some were club cards and some from workshops. I am planning to work on my November club cards this weekend so hope to post some new things then. This whole working for a living cramps my style. I teach first grade in my real life and it takes up so much time. :) Not to mention dragging my two children to their activities. Not that I am really complaining though. I'd have to say I have a pretty good life.

So these cards are from a birthday card workshop that was a bit more masculine focused. I missed taking a pic of one of the cards in the group shot somehow. All CTMH products were used.

Scrap card # 5

The last scrap card- for now at least! I used CTMH Mistletoe papers again but created it as a birthday card. Cranberry and new england ivy inks, and some unknown bling from Michael's (it was on deep discount after Christmas last year). I did stipple the edges with cranberry (that were exposed on the bottom and top). The stamp set is CTMH but the name escapes me at the moment.

Here's card number 4. It has those flowers from Michael's again with CTMH colonial white brads, A Timber stamp set and Mistletoe papers. I love acrylic stamps- I was able to curve the corner stamped image so it would fit on this card. It is a straight stamp. I used some of the new CTMH opaques for the tree decorations.

I just cut up my October club card pieces and had a huge pile of scraps. Soooo I decided to make up some cards using mainly these scraps. The following cards will be what I came up with. You'll have to come back each day to see another one. There are 5 altogether.
This first one uses the CTMH A Timber stamp set, cranberry ink, colonial white brads and mistletoe papers. The flowers are a find from Michaels in the bridal section. There are tons in this cute container. They are meant to be table confetti. The color was so close to cranberry though so I had to try them. The ribbon is Stampin Up.
